SALBURUA ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER, SPAIN architects:
Laurent Pereira and Susana Vitoria | |
|
The wide marshlands of Salburua are populated by many precious species of flowers and migrating birds. The aim of the environmental centre is to provide a place for education, walkers and scientific research based on this environment. The marsh is vast, open and flat. |
catwalk in the marsh landscape |
|
Its limits are vague, fluctuating
with the rhythm of the seasons, the water level and the flowers. The
crossings of these elements define the project¡¯s
spaces; overlapping pathways delimit interior roof and floor, retaining
walls push back ground to create space. |
